We left Washington DC Dulles airport at 11:30pm and had a quiet 9 hour flight to Istanbul. When we landed in Istanbul it was 4:00pm in the afternoon. Once we got through passport control, got our bags and found the Metro we were on our way. We braved the Metro most of the way to our hotel, but had to take a taxi for the last little bit. We are getting pretty good at this stuff.

This was the restaurant that we had dinner at. It was quaint and very nice. Jon, of course had the salmon and I had chicken and plum kababs.
After dinner we had a walk down Independence Street. It was just a couple blocks from our hotel and the night was perfect.

This trolly was going up and down the street playing very loud music. It was so fun.
Inside this plaza it was filled with little side restaurants serving eclectic fare for us tourists. Wish we would have eaten here.

Fresh fish for sale. A very nice man stopped us to say that if we picked out a nice fish he would cook it for us for dinner.
Now this was my favorite. Waffles with milk chocolate, raspberry chocolate, banana, strawberry and pistachios.
Russian Consulate. There were several consulates and beautiful churches on Independence Street. It was lovely and wonderful
